Queensland Gallery of Modern Art

World Science Festival 20 - 24 March 2019

Sight Seeing

Brisbane City Hall

Take a ride up to the iconic City Hall Clock Tower from 10am to 5pm, seven days a week. Entry is free.

Adjoining City Hall is King George Square - an open air public gathering space, used for markets, games nights, parades and more.


Mt Coot-tha Lookout

A ‘must see’ for all visitors to Brisbane, Mt Coot-tha’s Brisbane Lookout offers spectacular panoramic views over the CBD all the way to Moreton Bay. 

The bustling Kuta Cafe and award-winning Summit Restaurant ensure the precinct caters to all visitors.

Only 7kms from the CBD, the Lookout is stunning in the day and a romantic wonderland of lights at night.


Roma Street Parklands

Roma Street Parkland covers 16 hectares in the heart of Brisbane. It is open to the public 24 hours a day, apart from the Spectacle Garden which closes from dusk to dawn. The parkland includes sprawling lawns, designer gardens, children’s playground and a year-round events program. Pathways and toilets are wheelchair-friendly in the lower parkland and disabled parking is available. 


Brisbane City Botanic Gardens

Heritage listed botanic gardens in Brisbane CBD, located on Alice Street. Attractions at the gardens include the Bamboo Grove, Weeping Fig Avenue, Riverstage, ornamental ponds and more.

Queen Street Mall

The Queen Street Mall is a pedestrian mall located on Queen Street in the centre of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The mall extends approximately 500 metres from George Street to Edward Street, and has more than 700 retailers over 40,000 square metres of retail space, which includes six major shopping centres. It receives over 26 million visitors each year.

Streets Beach

Streets Beach is a South Bank icon and a must-visit while you’re in the Parklands. As Australia’s only inner-city, man-made beach, boasts a sparkling lagoon surrounded by white, sandy beaches and sub-tropical plants. Streets Beach is free to use and is patrolled by qualified lifeguards all year round.



Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Only 12km from Brisbane City, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary with 130 koalas. Hold a koala, hand feed kangaroos and meet a large variety of Australian wildlife in beautiful, natural settings
