Bio:

The presenters work in the visual, performing and literary arts, and bring a diverse range of cultural perspectives, including First Nations, multicultural and British-Australian. They are collaborating on this project as part of the Australia Council’s art leaders program.

Abstract:

Home and Away – Representing the realities of contemporary Australia to the world through the arts

The arts are one of the key ways Australia represents itself overseas, but how well do international arts activities represent the reality of contemporary Australia? Are Indigenous Australian arts adequately represented and which ones? Is the complexity of multicultural Australia part of the story?
